What brought you to Havencare?
‘Now that’s a good question… I think it was meant to be. A mix of personal circumstances, moving back to Devon, and finding a role that I genuinely wanted to do all came together at the right time.
I’ve spent the last 30 years working in supported housing across charities, housing associations and local government. Over that time I’ve worked with people with a wide range of needs, including homelessness, trauma and abuse, mental health, learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and complex needs.
Coming to Havencare as Supported Housing Manager feels like coming home. I’m really excited to be part of this journey helping to shape the future of Havencare Homes and Support.’
What are you most excited about in your role?
‘Getting to the point where I fully know what I’m doing – ha! But more than that, I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone, getting to know our tenants and support teams, visiting our properties, and building strong relationships with contractors and partners. It’s those real human connections that make the work meaningful.’
What are you most passionate about in the sector?
‘I’ve always been passionate about delivering high-quality, responsive services that make a difference to people’s lives.
I believe having a home is a fundamental right. It should be a place where people can flourish, live as independently as possible, feel safe, and have an environment that’s right for them to achieve their potential.
I’m really looking forward to working alongside everyone at Havencare to continue building a confident, collaborative service we can all be proud of, one that puts the people we support at the heart of everything we do.’
