About F:
F is a young woman who has been living in her own home for nearly three years. She is intelligent, sociable, caring and highly creative. She enjoys redesigning her clothes, cooking and spending time in her garden. She loves going for drives in her own car, finding bargains in charity shops, going to the gym and spending time with animals. Life with F can also mean trips to the park or beach, discos, church and days out in the community. Her family are an important part of her life, and she spends time with them every week.
About the Role:
Building a genuine relationship with F is at the heart of this role.
You’ll work as part of F’s team, providing 2:1 person-centred support and helping her:
• Maintain and develop everyday life skills
• Enjoy her interests, hobbies and creative activities
• Access her local community and enjoy days out
• Maintain her health and wellbeing
• Build independence, choice and control
• Develop positive and trusting relationships
• Communicate in ways that work for her
F is autistic and has Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA). She benefits from empathetic, consistent support and from having choice and control over her life.
Communication is important. F responds well to different approaches, including conversation, pictures, social stories, videos and daily visual planners. You’ll learn what works for F and use those tools creatively to help her feel informed, comfortable and in control. You’ll also play an important part in maintaining high standards of care and support within the team.
About the usual working pattern:
Week 1:
Saturday - 9:00am to 7:00pm
Sunday - 9:00am to 7:00pm
Week 2:
Tuesday - 9:00am to 7:00pm
Wednesday - 9:00am to 7:00pm

Essential for the role:
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential, as F’s home is not accessible by public transport.
