Hourly Rate: £12.30 - £13.30 night rate
Overtime Rate: +£2 on usual hourly rate
Hours: 6 hours a week

About the Role

MR B is autistic, living independently in his own flat, drives his own car, which he takes great pride of. He is supported 24hrs a week, preferring his support across 3 days and ranging between 9am – 3pm. Being flexible is important to enable him to manage his plans and appointments etc.

He needs support reading letters, organising, and paying bills, general managing of correspondence. Supporting him to make phone calls, speaking on his behalf but to be involved, listening to the conversations.

MR B requires support maintaining all areas of his home and prompting with personal hygiene. He makes his own decisions and plans a week ahead with what he wants to do.

He enjoys going to truck shows, Vintage Rallies, the Royal Cornwall show and traveling. Eurovision song contest, Gaming playing Simulation games excite him. He enjoys truck and train spotting, photography, General elections, and learning about History World War 1 & 2.

MR B needs skilled, timely and patient emotional support to focus on his understanding and to manage distress when things don’t go as he expects. He doesn’t like to be pressured and likes to take things in his own stride.

He has a good sense of humor and enjoys having a laugh and a joke, playing practical jokes on staff, looking for your great response.

About you

• Having similar interests as MR B would be ideal or someone wanting to learn about his interests.
• He would like someone a few years older than him in their 30’s. and a driver. They must be responsible, reliable, a good listener, understanding, good timekeeping as he doesn’t like people who are late and must inform him if they can’t do a shift.
• You will need to be confident working alone, be consistent, pay attention to small communication cues and behaviours to promote Mr B living a safe and considered life.
• Happy to navigate systems used efficiently and fulfil your responsibilities of the role

About the working pattern

• ​This post is for 1 shift a week.
