Support Worker

Salary: £11.80 - £12.00 per hour (sleep-in £54 per night)

Hours: Various full and part-time contracts with sleep-in duties as required

We have opportunities to work in one of our new services and are looking for enthusiastic, resourceful, and forward-thinking people to join Havencare as Support Workers.

Joining this new team, you will be supporting Matt, who has currently moved into his own home in Brixham, after spending several years in hospital in Cardiff. Matt is looking for a team that can support him on his transition journey into his new home.

“We would like Matt’s support team to learn as much about Matt from what we have shared that includes observations from existing carers of Matt interacting with those around him; knowledge of Matt’s, behaviours (anxious and quiet moments) and interests which are vital to understand for all staying in his home. Matt has trouble understanding the do’s and don’ts of life, but he does have a high level of intelligence that includes reading, writing, excellent recall, operating a laptop, iPad, games, and he also enjoys pen and paper hangman. Patience and flexibility with Matt are important and there are numerous interests he finds enjoyment in that includes music, dance, stories, film scenes – called up from the internet – films and comedy series.”
