Hours: Various full and part-time contracts with sleep-in duties as required. Casual roles also available

Job Description

Havencare Homes and Support Limited is a forward-thinking charity that supports people with learning disabilities and autism, and we have opportunities for enthusiastic, resourceful, and forward-thinking people to join Havencare as Support Workers.

We have a great opportunity for someone who has a thirst to learn about autism and non-speaking communication skills to join our existing team supporting two autistic gentleman who moved into their new home in September 2022. Gentleman 1 is an autistic man in his early 30s, who enjoys nothing more than spending time relaxing in the garden, listening and taking in all the interesting sounds that nature can offer.

Do you like marine life and visiting aquariums?
Do you have an interest in sensory profiling?
Do you like getting lost enjoying the tranquility of a pond or lake?
Could you sit in a café and watch the word go by?

If you share similar interest to this gentleman, then this could be the role for you!

Gentleman 2 is an autistic man in his mid-50s who is incredibly active and loves nothing more than being out in the fresh air and by the sea and spending time with his loving and devoted family.

Do you like swimming and water sports? Would you love a job where you can combine your passion with your job?
Are you a keen gardener who loves nothing more than planting and landscaping?
Are you partial to a good singsong and dance?
Do you like a good fish and chip supper?

If you share similar interests to this gentleman, then this could be the role for you!

During the day these gentlemen are supported by 2 staff when accessing the community to ensure they remain safe and get the best and most meaningful experience from their days.

Desirable: Both gentlemen have their own vehicles, so a driving license is preferable but negotiable for the right candidate.

Rota / working pattern opportunities (flexibility can be discussed at interview)
Week 1: Friday: 15:30-23:00, Saturday: 08:00-15:30, Sunday: 09:00-19:00
Week 2: Monday: 15:30-23:00, Tuesday: 15:30-23:00

Contract: 20 hours per week but open to negotiate additional hours for the right candidate.
